The Treasury has asked Nicola Shaw, the chief executive of High Speed 1, to advise on how the Government should approach the long-term “future shape and financing of Network Rail”. Shaw will work closely with NR’s new chairman, Sir Peter Hendy, in conducting her work, which will be concluded before next year’s Budget.
