National Cycle Network link could be closed

Gwynedd Council is to consult on closing a path across the famous Barmouth bridge, which forms part of the National Cycling Network, as part of a cost-cutting programme. 

The 900-metre long Barmouth bridge is a single track, largely wooden viaduct that carries the Machynlleth-Pwllheli railway across the Mawddach estuary. It incorporates a footbridge on its eastern side that can also be used by cyclists. This is part of the Wales Coastal Path and the National Cycling Network.
