Hosting the America’s Cup led to Portsmouth creating a series of temporary car parks and offering pre-booked parking for the first time

Major sporting events are a magnet for spectators, and their cars. When Portsmouth hosted the America’s Cup World Series sailing competition at the end of July it had to plan for the fact that many thousands of visitors would arrive by car.
