AECOM, the US-based construction and consultancy business, recorded a $155m net loss on a turnover of $18bn for the year ended 30 September 2015. This compared with a $230m profit on a $8.4bn turnover in the previous financial year.
The adverse result was a reflection on very high acquisition and integration costs totalling $398.4m (2013/14: $27.3m), the largest acquisition being which was bought out in 2014. Synergy benefits from the merger are not expected until 2017.
