Nexus has launched a pay-as-you-go version of its Pop smartcard for use on the Tyne and Wear Metro and some bus services in the conurbation. Single Metro journeys made with the card cost 10p less than the standard fare and all day travel costs 20p less than the equivalent Day Saver price. A daily price cap applies.
