A driver was billed more than £6,000 after using her credit card to pay by phone for one hour’s parking at a council-run car park in Swindon. Ruth Ritchie used the PayByPhone app to park for one hour, which should have cost £1.20. But Ritchie later received a call from her bank's fraud squad who told her she had spent £6,561.50.
