Centro hopeful of approval for mega buses for Sprint BRT

WEST MIDLANDS Integrated Transport Authority is confident of securing Government approval for the introduction of 24-metre long buses in Birmingham.

The European General Circulation Directive 96/53 limits vehicles to 18.75 metres in length but Centro hopes to secure a special derogation from the DfT for 24-metre long vehicles on the ‘Sprint’ network.
