The busy six-arm junction outside Bank Tube station in the City of London could be closed during the day to all motor vehicles except buses from late 2016, under plans being investigated by the City of London Corporation. 

About 1,600 motor vehicles pass through the junction every hour of the day on weekdaysCyclists account for about 50% of the vehicle flow in the AM peak and there are about 18,000 pedestrian crossing movements an hour in the AM peak hour (08.00-09.00).
