MILTON KEYNES Council is creating an extra 1,000 employee car parking spaces in the town’s central area, in response to complaints about parking supply from employers.
Central Milton Keynes has more than 25,000 parking spaces (21,000 public and 4,000 private) – a figure far higher than any other town or city of comparative size.
But employers such as Network Rail say a shortage of employee parking is undermining its attempts to recruit staff (see panel).
