Ministers: switch-off the speed camera cash cow

Does the road safety boondoggle really need another charity? I refer to the formation of the Road Safety Trust, which will receive money from the £5 administration fee for each speed awareness course (‘Speeding course fees to help fund road safety research’ LTT 11 Dec). That might not sound much until you realise that around 1.3 million drivers were coerced onto these courses in lieu of three points on their licences in 2014.
