‘Rip out traffic signals,' says Institute of Economic Affairs

Thousands of traffic signals, bus lanes, cycle lanes, speed cameras, and parking restrictions should be removed from Britain’s roads, according to right of centre think-tank the Institute of Economic Affairs. 

“For large parts of the network and for much of the time, the benefits of traffic management are negligible or non-existent, while costs are substantial,” says the report by traffic signals critic Martin Cassini and IEA research director Richard Wellings....
