Leics rail re-opening back on agenda

Work is underway to assess the case for reintroducing passenger services on the railway between Leicester and Burton-on-Trent via Coalville. Proposals for a passenger service on the so-called Ivanhoe or National Forest Line were developed in the 1990s but abandoned in 1996. Consultant Scott Wilson re-examined the project in 2009 for Leicestershire County Council.
