A five-year average speed camera project is to be launched in Birmingham and Solihull this summer, which could prompt the roll-out of cameras across the West Midlands conurbation. 

Birmingham and Solihull councils and West Midlands Police have awarded Vysionics the contract, which will see average speed cameras installed on ten sections of road – seven in Birmingham and three in Solihull.
