CITY REGION transport and spatial planning seems set to be strengthened in South East Scotland as councils prepare plans for a city deal with the Scottish and UK Governments.

New arrangements for planning are being explored as part of the proposed Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Deal currently being negotiated. The deal covers six councils: Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian, West Lothian, Fife and Scottish Borders.
