Waltham Forest Council has agreed to amend new traffic management orders (TMOs) to extend the free parking period after noting the concerns of businesses and residents.
The north-east London authority offers 15 minutes free parking on high streets across the borough. It had considered changing the free parking offer to take into account new measures, introduced by government last year, which allow drivers a 10-minute grace period after a free parking or payment period expires.
