All London black cabs now accept cashless payment

Cash payment is no longer required for a black cab taxi journey in London. Passengers can now pay for any journey using just credit and debit cards, including contactless payments.

Although many of London's black taxis have accepted cards for years, cash has remained the standard form of payment. But all Hackney Carriages must now carry a card payment device.
