Major improvements to Greater Manchester’s orbital roads, the A66 Trans-Pennine corridor, and the road between Oxford and Cambridge will feature in Highways England’s next five-year Road Investment Strategy (RIS) from 2020/21 to 2024/25, transport secretary Chris Grayling has announced. 

Studies into the corridors are currently underway and Grayling said that, based on these, the Government would take forward plans to:
