The cost of London’s Freedom Pass concessionary fares scheme to boroughs will fall next year for the first time ever.
In 2017/18 boroughs will contribute £346.3m to scheme costs, £9.4m less than the £355.7m they are paying this year.
The Freedom Pass gives holders free travel 24 hours a day on Transport for London services and after 9.30am on National Rail services in the capital. Residents of London aged 60 and above or disabled qualify for a pass.
