Housing spine road ‘was built too narrow’

STREETS

20 January 2017

A spine road through a new Oxfordshire housing estate should have been built wider than it was, those involved in the project have admitted.

Parking is banned on Sir Frank Williams Avenue in the 3,300-home Great Western Park development in Didcot because the road is used by buses and goods vehicles. The road is understood to be about six metres wide (LTT 29 May 15). The ban operates despite houses fronting immediately onto the street and limited parking nearby.
