The South East Scotland transport partnership (SEStran) has paused proposals to acquire more powers and responsibilities after some constituent councils questioned the plans, and others failed to respond by the consultation deadline.

SEStran had asked all eight member authorities to respond by 2 March to a consultation on moving from being a model one to a model three regional transport partnership (RTP).
