UK Parking Control says it will contest £1m VAT bill

Operator UK Parking Control (UKPC) has paid HM Revenues and Customs over £1m in relation to a disputed VAT bill, but has signalled its intention to contest the claims in court. 

UKPC specialises in the management of off-street parking and is particularly active in the retail sector.

The company, which had a turnover of £10.6m in 2015-16, has been in a dispute with HMRC about VAT for several years.
