Labour is promising to build Crossrail 2 in London and a ‘Crossrail of the North’ connecting the north of England’s big cities if it wins the General Election on 8 June.

The party also proposes to give legal protection to bus routes of “critical community value”. 

The proposals are contained in a draft version of the party’s election manifesto that was leaked this week.
