The Government should simplify its plans for charging Clean Air Zones (CAZs), with just two classes of zone instead of four, road transport organisations have said. 

The Government’s plans are for charging CAZs classed A-D, each class covering progressively more vehicle types:

A: buses, coaches and taxis

B: buses, coaches, taxis and heavy goods vehicles

C: buses, coaches, taxis, HGVs and light goods vehicles (LGVs)

D: buses, coaches, taxis, HGVs, LGVs and cars
