Demand for air travel in the UK will almost double over the next 30 years, according to a new forecast prepared by the DfT.
The prediction appears in the DfT’s consultation document, Beyond the horizon – the future is UK aviation, which will inform a new aviation strategy to be published by the end of 2018.
The DfT says strong air passenger growth has returned following the economic downturn between 2007 and 2009.
