Councils have eight months to prepare NO2 plans

Twenty-nine local authorities in England have been ordered to prepare action plans to bring nitrogen dioxide concentrations into compliance with the EU’s annual limit value in the “fastest possible time”. 

The Government has ordered the authorities (see table) to prepare the plans after modelling suggested they were expected to have the greatest problem complying with the EUlimit value beyond the next three to four years.
