Cambridgeshire County Council is preparing legal action against its guided busway contractor for repairs that are likely to cost more than £35m.

The Cambridgeshire guided busway between St Ives  and Cambridge was built by BAM Nuttall and opened in 2011. Busway services have proved popular with passengers but the concrete track has been blighted with problems. A report to councillors last November identified three key defects:
