West Sussex County Council is calling on Highways England to conduct a cumulative assessment of all the road improvements planned on the A27 trunk road along the South Coast.
The council says such an assessment should be used to inform the design of improvements between Worthing and Lancing. Highways England is has just finished consulting on a £69m plan to improve seven junctions on this part of the road.
