Living in more densely built areas significantly lowers your risk of being dangerously overweight, according to a new survey of obesity rates in UK cities published in The Lancet.
The study, carried out by the universities of Oxford and Hong Kong, found that obesity rates were markedly lower in areas where homes were more tightly clustered.
The study analysed data for over 419,000 respondents in 22 British metropolitan areas over a period of four years.
