Funding allocations revealed for new £1.7bn transport pot

The six combined authorities of England with elected mayors will receive more than £800m from the Government’s new £1.7bn Transforming Cities Fund for improving transport links. 

The fund was announced by the Chancellor, Philip Hammond, in this week’s Budget.

About half the funding is being allocated to the six mayoral CA areas on a per capita basis: £74m for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough; £243m for Greater Manchester; £134m for Liverpool City...
