Highways England is to install traffic signals on the slip road connecting the M6 to the M62 west of Manchester (M6 J21a/M62 J10). The signals will only operate in the morning peak. They will be complemented by mandatory variable speed limits and electronic information signs on the M62 between junctions 9 and 11, which will operate whenever road conditions dictate.
