New and upgraded railways and upgrades to major road links feature in Transport for the North’s (TfN) draft transport plan released this week.
TfN, which will become England’s first statutory sub-national transport body in April, said the 30-year (2020-2050) investment programme was “ambitious but realistic”. All the projects are subject to further development work but the programme has an estimated cost of £60bn-£70bn in today’s prices....
