A public bike hire scheme is among the mobility pilot projects Dundee City Council wants to procure.
The council is tendering for five lots through its Mobility Integration Living Laboratory (MILL) initiative. The lots, which all run to 31 December 2019, are:
1. Advanced mobility services for the public – products, technologies or services providing access to shared mobility solutions and/or lower emission transport (value £200,000)
2. Advanced fleet services – products, technologies or services to improve access to and/use of shared mobility solutions by businesses and organisations; and/or reduce their use of conventionally fuelled vehicles; and/or improve their use of transport assets; and/or facilitate access to public sector transport assets by the broader community (project value £200,000)
3. Advanced parking services – products, technologies and infrastructure to improve parking management
4. Advanced use of urban data – the council is developing an open data platform and seeking products, technologies and services to improve the visibility of how transport assets are used in the city, and the amount, quality and value of data published via the platform (Value £150,000)
5. Cycle hire scheme – this must operate at zero cost to the council
The deadline for tenders is 16 February.
