Network Rail has backed a proposed open access rail service between Blackpool North and London Euston. In a letter to the Office of Rail and Road last month, Network Rail says it plans to sell firm rights to Great North Western Railway for a service of four or five return trips (depending on the day) between London and Blackpool from May 2019.
