UK referred to court for NO2 breach

The European Commission has referred the UK to the Court of Justice of the European Union for failing to comply with Europe’s nitrogen dioxide limit values. The action concerns the failure to achieve the limit values in 16 air quality zones. The values were supposed to be met by 2010. France and Germany have also been referred to the court for NO2, while Hungary, Romania and Italy have been referred for particulate matter (PM10).
