Glasgow City Council’s ruling SNP administration has instructed officers to prepare a report on road user charging for the city. This follows a recommendation by the council’s environmental scrutiny committee in March that a road user charging scheme should be implemented by 31 December 2020 covering the proposed city centre low emission zone (LTT 30 Mar). The council’s city administration committee last week asked officers to prepare a report on the idea within nine months. But the committee rejected the scrutiny committee’s call for the low emission zone to be extended from buses to all vehicles by April 2021. The zone will instead be extended to all vehicles
