Skates cheered by free bus impact

Welsh transport secretary Ken Skates has said the trial of free weekend travel for all passengers on TrawsCymru bus services has shown “some excellent early results”. 

The trial began in July 2017 and is continuing for a second year. The Welsh Government was unable to provide statistics for the first year, but said weekend usage of each route by March or April had increased year-on-year by between 34 per cent and 108 per cent.
