Construction of new station begins

Construction of a new rail station at Robroyston, between Stepps and Springburn on the Glasgow to Cumbernauld line, has commenced. The station, expected to open next December, will serve a new residential development of 1,600 homes and feature 258 car parking spaces. The £14m costs are being met by: £6.9m from the Scottish Stations Fund (Network Rail); £5.9m from Glasgow City Council; and £1.25m from Strathclyde Partnership for Transport. ...
