Bus operator fined for notice failure

Bus operator Parrott Motors of Bridgend, South Wales, has been fined £1,100 for withdrawing two bus services without giving the required 56 days’ notice. Director Richard Parrott told a public inquiry that he decided to cease the services after his insurance premium doubled. Welsh traffic commissioner Nick Jones imposed a fine of £100 per vehicle, which Parrott Motors was authorised to operate and revoked the company’s operating licence. Jones said: “The...
