Manchester bus firms call for partnership

Greater Manchester’s bus operators hope that a proposal to buy 450 new vehicles over the next three years, and to freeze the price of multi-operator tickets for two years, will help persuade elected mayor Andy Burnham to abandon work on bus franchising. 

The ticket price freeze and new vehicles – 150 of which would be delivered by 2020 –  are part of a wider offer announced this week by OneBus, a collective of 18 operators in the conurbation.
