The waiting rooms at Leicester station have been refurbished, with new seating, departure screens, and free to use water filling stations for customers.
East Midlands Trains has invested over £150,000 to improve facilities for customers using Leicester station including more than 50 seats in each waiting room and 32in departure board screens to make it easier for passengers to check train departures.
Rachel Rundell, Area Manager, Leicestershire for East Midlands Trains, said: “We are really looking forward to inviting our passengers in to the new look waiting rooms this week. Being the first station on our network to have the water filling stations is fantastic and we look forward to seeing them in our other stations in the future.
“We hope our customers enjoy the refurbished waiting rooms, particularly during the current spell of cold weather.”
East Midlands Trains is also working on the re-design of the toilets on both platforms at Leicester station, with work starting towards the end of February 2019 to improve accessibility.
