The Office for Low Emission Vehicles has awarded more than £6m to 17 local authorities across England to help fund the installation of almost 300 rapid chargepoints and 46 fast chargepoints for use by taxis and private hire vehicles. 

The biggest award goes to Transport for Greater Manchester, which will receive £1.8m for 160 rapids.
