The City of Edinburgh Council is holding a procurement competition to devise a system that can detect if tram drivers are losing consciousness or about to suffer a chronic health issue.
The ‘driver innovation safety challenge’ competition will provide up to £168,000 for research and development of a system over a period of 18 months.
If the resultant technology is deemed successful it could then be deployed on the Edinburgh tram network, other tram networks...
