Mixed news in Scots road casualty data

The number of people killed in accidents on Scotland’s roads increased by 15 last year to 160 but overall reported casualties fell 11 per cent, according to provisional statistics released by Transport Scotland. Reported casualties declined from 9,433 to 8,402. Serious injuries dropped by 12 to 1,581, but slight injuries reduced by 1,034 to 6,661. There were 5,069 car user casualties, 1,250 pedestrian casualties, 640 motorcycle casualties, 638 pedal cycle casualties, and 230 bus and coach...
