Reading Borough Council is trying to fill a funding gap for a new station at Green Park on the southern edge of Reading.
The station, on the Reading to Basingstoke line, will serve the Green Park business park, the Green Park village, and the Royal Elm Park mixed use development. It was costed at £17m, with funding from Thames Valley Berkshire LEP’s Local Growth Fund (£9.15m), Section 106 contributions (£5.6m) and the DfT’s New Stations Fund (£2.3m).
