The roll-out of 20mph limits across Edinburgh has resulted in “significant” drop in speeds, according to a report from the city council. Monitoring of 66 sites showed that speeds feel by 1.34mph on average, and by up to 2.41mph in some areas. Research has shown that every 1mph fall in speed results in a 6% fall in accidents, said the council.
