West Sussex County Council has dropped a plan to allow residents to trail electricity cables across footways to charge electric cars. It has also ruled out charge points in lamp posts.
West Sussex’s draft EV strategy published earlier this year said that residents with on-street parking could run electricity cables from their homes across footways if the cabling was encased in a “suitable cover”.
