A new rail station is to be built to serve the town of Soham on the Ely to Bury St Edmunds line in east Cambridgeshire. The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority has appointed Network Rail to build the single platform station, together with a footbridge, car and cycle parking, access road and bus turning circle. The estimated cost is £21.8m. Work should commence next year.
