Sefton explores charging CAZ

Sefton Council in the Liverpool City Region is investigating the introduction of a Class B clean air zone, which would see charges imposed on heavy goods vehicles, buses, taxis and private hire vehicles that fail to meet minimum emission standards. Four Air Quality Management Areas (AQMAs) have been designated in the south of the council area, through which traffic to/from the Port of Liverpool passes. Consultant AECOM’s initial analysis recommended a Class B CAZ scheme....
