Kent county Council is awaiting a decision from ministers, including the Prime Minister, on whether English local authorities outside London should be granted the power to enforce moving traffic offences. The council wants the power to enforce a trial lorry control area. 

Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 contains powers for councils outside London to undertake the civil enforcement of moving traffic offences, such as banned turns, exceeding weight limits and stopping in yellow box...
