About one in seven driving licence holders in the London Borough of Wandsworth are now members of a car club, according to the borough.
Wandsworth says about 29,000 residents had a car club membership at the end of 2019, the highest number of any local authority in the country.
Paul Chadwick, Wandsworth’s director of environment and community services, told councillors that the clubs had helped contribute to a fall in the number of vehicles registered in the borough.
